     How many times has budget, environmental control or space kept your facility from bringing in an exhibit? Wouldn't it be great if you had some control over such a process?

     My name is John Kovach. I have spent over 30 years as a professional historian, serving as the executive director of three museums, county historian, curator, education director and peer reviewer for the American Alliance of Museums.

      I have curated numerous exhibits on the subject of girls and women in baseball, including one that toured the United States for nearly seven years

      I was frustrated that the story was limited to only those facilities using traditional museum requirements. But, what if a facility who really wanted the exhibit, could not have it because they did not meet those requirements?

      That became my quest. I needed to develop a concept which would allow ALL interested facilities to host the exhibit story. The story WAS the KEY and there are many ways it can be told.

      I first presented a non-traditional approach to the traveling exhibit concept at the Small Museum Association annual meeting in 2020. The idea was well-received and so over the next two years, DiamondDreams1866, LLC was created.
